Our first film is out!

I'm very excited to introduce a new blog dedicated to the latest series from Reel Jewish Entertainment: "Jewish Tales of the Unexpected"

The first volume of this new series is now out and is called "The Permeable Man."
This film was shot using the popular Panasonic HVX-200 HD camera. Although my crew for this film was VERY SMALL, I had a very talented director of photography named Denise Bailie who lit the film beautifully.
Another plus is the tremendous performance by my old friend, the well-known actor, performer, and now professor, Mr. Reuven Russell. RR brings his "A" game to this film, and is a pleasure to watch.

Anyway, the ball is in your court now. Have you seen the film yet?

I'd like to get some feedback on what you thought, where you thought the strengths and weaknesses were (but remember, be nice and don't hurt the actors' feelings).

i bought the film without thinking twice when i saw who it was by. i am a huge fan of agent emes and assumed the same quality, toichen, etc. would be found in permeable man.
i was not disapointed. this film is wonderful.
highlights--
- the acting is excellent. i love RR. other great appearanecs include rabbi mostovsky -- hilarious, though he pulls off the stereoptypical rabbi it's creepy... especially with the musty shul background you got there...... i was waiting for him to say SHALOOOOOOOOM into the phone. you pulled that whole thing off really well but it's still creepy on some level.
--the gabai. awesome. the facial expressions etc. very good. that scene is awesomely funny. "schneiderman? i knew there was something funny with his "ch".
--the dream is very cool, and then a little allusion to a prologue later in the movie. and thanks for respecting our intelligence and not explaining what the empty pages are... very cool.
